Did you know that a single family story can shape a community and inspire others? When we talk about “legacy” in our real estate brand, we’re not just borrowing a meaningful word; it’s a journey through my family’s deep-rooted history in real estate.

It all started with Norwood’s vision. In 1938, my great-uncle Norwood came to Arizona and began investing in real estate. With a long view of the future, he didn’t arrive to flip land or chase a quick return. He came to build.

What started as real estate investments became something much larger: a sprawling ranching operation that once covered more than 400 sections of land. To put that in perspective, each section is 640 acres. That’s some of the roughest, rockiest land in the state, stretching from Sunset Point on I-17 across the Bradshaw Mountains.

Overcoming challenges. But he wasn’t just a landowner; he was also a problem-solver. A scientist at heart with a background in metals engineering, he saw firsthand that the cattle available at the time weren’t built for Arizona’s harsh conditions.

He began developing a new breed of cattle that could thrive in the dry, unforgiving environment of the Southwest. That process took over 25 years, from 1940, much of it spent deep in the backcountry on the east slope of the Bradshaws. Eventually, he moved the herd to Kirkland, Arizona, and completed the breed. He called it the Barzona breed.

“We don’t just sell homes. We help people build something that lasts.”

Continuing Norwood’s legacy. Norwood passed away in 1970, but his work didn’t end there. In 1973, my parents purchased 70% of the foundation herd and moved us from a ranch in Williams to Prescott. We leased what is now known as Deep Well Ranch and ran our operation there for the next 13 years.

Norwood wasn’t just a visionary rancher—he was meticulous. By 1952, he had 22 cattle brands registered in Arizona. One of those was the Triple T brand mark, which now serves as the logo for our real estate business. It’s more than a nod to our past. It’s a daily reminder of where we come from and the standards we hold ourselves to.

The word “legacy” is personal for our family. It’s about having the intention of building something that lasts beyond your generation. So when you see our brand, know it isn’t just a logo. It represents decades of resilience, vision, and pride, shared with you as you build your legacy.

Today, that’s what we strive to do in real estate, not just for ourselves, but for the people we work with. We’re building legacies for our team members as they grow their businesses, build wealth, and create new possibilities for their families.

And we’re here to help our clients do the same, whether buying, selling, or investing in something bigger than today. If you have any questions or if there’s anything else we can do to help with real estate, call or send a message at (928) 710-7007 or travis@legacyren.com. Together, let’s build your legacy for the future and for the people you love and care for.
